Poios Cowl

In Madeira Island, the vines are cultivated in small terraces called poios, to make their very famous wine. I was inspired by their beautiful geometric pattern to make this cowl. Knitted in warm DK wool, it will bring you comfort and a ray of Madeira’s sunshine all winter.

Verdon

I designed these socks in a beachhouse in a small town in the west of France called Le-Verdon-sur-mer. This house belonged to my girlfriend’s grandmother and everything stayed the same since the 60s : floral wallpapers, leather chairs and even psychedelic pants in the closet.
I knitted these socks to wear in the evening, when I get back from the beach and enjoy the fresh salty air in the porch with my yarn and needles or a good book.
The socks are knitted top down with four double pointed needles, but advanced sock knitters could easily adapt the pattern for their prefered method.
Using classic techniques and a slipped-stitch pattern, this is a suitable knit for the beginner at sock knitting as well as for the more advanced knitter.

Grisou

Grisou is a small rectangular scarf with a textured pattern made of seed stitch and cables. I designed it thinking of the stories I heard about the old coal mines in the village I grew up. Grisou is an explosive gas and a symbol of the dangerosity of the mines. I thought of those minors with their faces dirty with coal and the little scarf they would but around their neck.
This scarf is suitable for an advanced beginner and intermediate knitter. It can very well be a first cable project.
