My first crochet project - Granny Square Cardigan

I very recently started to learn crochet. As a first project, I chose to make this granny square cardigan. The pattern is in fact a recipe originally published by Maria Valles on her blog. But I mostly used the excellent video tutorial by yarnutopia.
A video tuto is a great way to get started with crochet, because it can sometimes be hard to know where your hook is supposed to go exactly and there's nothing like seeing a demonstration of a technique to understand exactly how it's done.
This cardigan is just a huge granny square made of double crochet. It's then folded in half and sewn under the arms. A double crochet border is then worked all around. It was pretty straightforward and fun to crochet. I actually made most of it in the subway (before it got too big).
It is very warm and cozy, I wore it all the time when the weather was still chilly.
Here you can see me in the Pyrenees, literally on top of the mountain taking a break in our very early morning hike.

Je me suis récemment mise au crochet. Comme premier projet, j'ai choisi de faire ce gilet granny square. Le modèle est en fait un tuto publié à l'origine par Maria Valles sur son blog. Mais j'ai surtout utilisé l'excellent tuto video de yarnutopia.

Il n'y a pas mieux pour apprendre le crochet qu'un tuto video, parce que ça peut parfois être difficile de savoir exactement où le crochet doit aller, et une démonstration technique vaut toutes les explications du monde.

Ce gilet est un immense granny square fait de brides. Il est ensuite plié en deux et cousu sous les bras. Une bordure en bride est ajoutée tout autour. C'est un projet plutôt simple et fun à crocheter. J'en ai fait la plus grande partie dans le métro (avant qu'il devienne bien trop grand).

C'est un gilet tout chaud et confortable, je l'adore et quand il faisait encore un peu frais, je le portais tout le temps.

Vous pouvez me voir sur la photo, dans les Pyrénées, appréciant une petite pause tout en haut de la montagne au milieu d'une randonnée très matinale.
