The first time I wore my Soviet Hat was just after Christmas when we went to my in-laws beach house in the South-West of France. This house belonged to Lilas' grandmother and it's still full of her old clothes. She had a really great sense of style, so I borrowed some of them to make a fun outfit to walk on the beach.
Soviet Hat is very warm, and it was perfect for the cold wind blowing on the beach. I don't have (yet!) a matching scarf to wear with my hat, so I wore my favorite scarf : Topiary, that I knitted two years ago and wear all the time during winter. (The pattern is by Michele Wang from Brooklyn Tweed Fall 2011).
I wore my green coat, which used to belong to Lilas' grandmother and has a nice vintage londonian style. I love how the green works great with the grey of the hat and the brown scarf.
The sweater is an old hand-knitted irish cardigan, brought back from Ireland by Lilas' grandfather who was military and always brought back gifts from his trips. There's a huge pile of irish sweaters in the closet there, it's amazingly inspiring !
Now, the pants, I don't know where they came from, nor how old they are but they are terribly comfortable and they give a nice splash of color to the outfit !
The yellow boots are mine, I bought them in Zagreb on our trip last year. The pants are a bit short for me, which makes them look classier, but with these fur-lined boots my ankles were definitely warm.
You probably got that mixing hand-made, vintage, and stuff discovered anywhere I go is my passion when it comes to dressing. I hope to share more of these outfits with you in the future.
J'ai porté mon Bonnet Soviet pour la première fois juste après Noël, quand nous sommes allées à la maison balnéaire de mes beaux-parents dans le Sud-Ouest. Cette maison appartenait à la grand-mère de Lilas et elle est encore remplie de ses vieux vêtements. Cette femme avait un grand sens du style, alors j'ai emprunté quelques uns de ses vêtements pour faire un fun outfit pour une balade sur la plage.
Le bonnet Soviet est très chaud, il était parfait pour le vent frais qui soufflait sur la plage. Je n'ai pas (encore !) d'écharpe assortie, alors j'ai porté mon écharpe préférée : Topiary, que j'ai tricoté il y a deux ans et que je porte encore tout le temps pendant l'hiver. (Le modèle est de Michele Wang, publié dans Brooklyn Tweed Fall 2011).
J'ai porté mon manteau vert, qui appartenait à la grand-mère de Lilas, et a un chouette style londonien un peu vintage. J'adore le mix du vert avec le gris du bonnet et l'écharpe marron.
Le pull est un ancien gilet irlandais tricoté à la main que le grand-père de Lilas avait ramené d'Irlande. Il était dans l'armée, et ramenait toujours pleins de cadeaux de ses voyages. Il y a une immense pile de pull irlandais dans les placards, c'est une mine d'inspiration !
Bon, le pantalon, je ne sais pas d'où il vient, ni de quand il date, mais il est terriblement confortable et donne une sympathique touche de couleur à la tenue !
Les bottes jaunes sont à moi, je les ai ramenées de Zagreb lors de notre voyage l'année dernière. Le pantalon est un peu court pour moi, ce qui le rend plus classe, mais avec les bottes doublée fourrure, mes chevilles étaient bien au chaud.
Vous l'avez probablement compris, mixer le fait-main, le vintage et les choses dénichées n'importe où que j'aille est ma passion quand je m'habille. J'espère partager avec vous d'autres outfits de ce style dans le futur.
