Pearl Drop Cowl

With this cowl, knitted in your favorite yarn, you'll appreciate all the delicacy of knitting and you'll wear it like a precious jewel around your neck.

The cowl is knitted in the round. It features a beautiful textured pattern made of 2 stitches ktbl cables and seed stitch diamonds over a purl background.

Snood Pearl Drop

Tricoté dans votre laine préférée, ce col vous fera apprécier toute la finesse du tricot et vous le porterez comme un précieux joyau autour de votre cou.

Le snood est tricoté en rond. Il possède un beau motif texturé fait de torsades de deux mailles torses et de losanges en point de blé sur un fond en jersey envers.

High Tide Socks - New free pattern

My High Tide Socks pattern was just released as a free pattern as part as the Fall 2016 collection of Knotions magazine.

I’ve always been fascinated by high tides, when the beach slowly disappears and the sea reaches the city before withdrawing again and you have to walk kilometers on the beach to find it. Tides have always punctuated my vacations so I wanted to design those socks to knit at the beach while watching the movements of the sea.
These socks are knitted in the round on four double pointed needles, but the experienced knitter can easily adapt the pattern for one or two circular needles. They are knitted top down, with a round heel and a wedged toe. The stitch pattern is made of stockinette stitch and elegant wavy cables over garter stitch.

My Ice Cream Hat pattern is part of the latest issue of Knit Now!

Worked is the so soft and light cotton yarn Evie, by Sublime Yarn, it features a simple stranded pattern and stripes.

Wet Hot Summer Shorts - Pattern Release

I have the great pleasure of announcing you the release of my newest pattern : Wet Hot Summer Shorts as part as Holla Knits Summer 2016 collection!

After seeing Wet Hot American Summer, I wanted to bring sexy to my summer wardrobe! So I designed those mid-waist shorts to wear in the city or at the beach all summer with big sandals and a cute crop top. What I enjoyed most when knitting those shorts were all the different techniques I got to use. I’ve been obsessed with grafting in pattern lately and I love the looks of those horizontal cabled legs! The cable pattern is worked flat and then the last stitches are grafted with the provisional cast on. Stitches are then picked up on the side of the cable panel and the rest of the shorts is worked in stockinette stitch in the round, with short rows to shape the back. The waistband has an elastic band inserted for a perfect fit. This pattern is highly customizable, you can make longer legs, add more room in the back and make a lower or higher waist as you wish!

GAL 2015 - Designer Aet Terasmaa

Today I'm featuring a designer from Estonia, Aet Terasmaa. I'm amazed to see designers from all over the world joining together in this GAL !

Aet Terasmaa designs a wide variety of accessories, from scarfs to hats, shawls, mittens.

Here are my favorites :

Crossroad Wraps is a triangular shawl in garter stitch with pretty stripes and an original construction in three pieces, shaped with short rows. It is made in 5 ply sport yarn.

First snow mittens are stranded mittens in 4 ply fingering yarn, with 15 different snowflakes ! I love how they all look together.

Flower Princess Shawl is a beautiful lace shawl in 2 ply yarn. It has an original construction to make this beautiful crescent shape. I really love the delicate geometric leaves patterns.

GAL 2015 - Designer Meridith Shepherd

On my tour of the amazing designs the GAL has to offer, I found a great designer with colorful, simple yet very elegant designs. Meridith Shepherd lives in Missouri, USA, she's been designing for 5 years and has a nice selection of patterns on sale for this GAL (with the coupon code giftalong2015).

Amongst those patterns, one in particular caught my eye : Color Infusion, a beautiful stranded cowl in fingering weight yarn with two sides slightly different to vary with your mood and your look ! 

I've decided to knit it for my mother as a christmas gift. I bought some soft alpaca yarn a while ago in brown, red, grey and yellow and I've been looking for for the perfect cowl to make her. I finally found it !

Au cours de mon petit tour de tous les superbes modèles disponibles dans ce GAL, j'ai trouvé une talentueuse créatrice, qui fait des modèles simples mais élégants. Meridith Shepherd vit au Missouri, Etats-Unis, elle créé des modèles de tricot depuis 5 ans et possède une belle sélection de modèles en solde durant le GAL (avec le coupon code giftalong2015).

Parmi ces modèles, un en particulier m'a attiré l'oeil : Color Infusion, un superbe snood en jaquard, fait dans une laine fingering, avec deux côtés différents pour varier selon son humeur et son style !

J'ai décidé de le tricoter pour ma mère comme cadeau de Noël. J'ai acheté il y a quelques temps déjà une laine toute douce d'alpaga en marron, rouge, gris et jaune, et je cherchais le modèle parfait pour un col. Je l'ai enfin trouvé !

Verdon Socks - New release

I just released my Verdon Socks.
I started a new job two months ago and I have way less time to knit and design, but I still managed to find the time to finish this sock design and I'm pretty proud of it !

My next design is a bulky sweater, but I struggled with the sleeves so I put it off and I think it's now time to take it out of the closet and make it work !

Bobble Belt

I made this belt in the summer, I remember I was in the train back from my cousin wedding and I just had a skein of yarn and two needles. I really wanted a belt to put on my dresses and had never found a great one that would be adjustable enough to wear on the waist or the hips, elegant enough to wear on a pretty dress and (even more difficult to find) a white belt.

I was at the very beginning of my bobble obsession and I chose a very simple bobble pattern. It's great because you don't have to turn to make the bobble, and as you turn enough already when you're knitting something that tight, you don't need to turn two more times in a row.

J'ai tricoté cette ceinture pendant l'été. Je me souviens, j'étais dans le train pour revenir du mariage de ma cousine, et je n'avais qu'une pelote de laine et deux aiguilles. J'avais envie depuis longtemps d'une ceinture à porter sur mes robes et je n'en avais jamais trouvé une à mon goût qui soit assez ajustable pour la porter à la taille ou sur les hanches, assez élégante pour la porter sur une jolie robe, et (encore plus compliqué à trouver), une ceinture blanche.
J'en étais au tout début de mon obsession des nopes, et j'ai choisi un point très simple qui permet de ne pas tourner l'ouvrage pour faire la nope. C'est très pratique parce que pour une ceinture si étroite, on tourne déjà assez souvent et on n'a pas envie de tourner deux fois de plus dans le même rang.

I don't think that knitted belt are very popular accessories, and I don't really know why because they are very useful, quick to knit and they make pretty gifts (with christmas approaching).

Je n'ai pas l'impression que les ceintures tricotées soient des accessoires populaires, et je me demande pourquoi. Pour moi, elles sont très utiles, rapides à tricoter, ça change des écharpes et bonnets, et ça fait un cadeau sympathique (avec noël qui arrive à grands pas)

New cowl

Just a small post today to show you this new cowl I made recently with a single ball of Plymouth Yarn Baby Alpaca Grande. It's really soft and I love it. The weather just got cold here and I'm wearing it all the time.

I'm currently having this pattern tested and I'm looking for testers, so if you're interested, you can go to this post on the ravelry Free Pattern Testers forum, where the test will take place.
