Summer Look

(FRANÇAIS PLUS BAS)

I just got my Wet Hot Summer Shorts sample back from Holla Knits, and I'm so excited to wear them! It's also a way to show my puzzled friends that yes, knitted shorts are cool and totally wearable in summer!

So here is my summer look:

First, of course, my Wet Hot Summer Shorts ! 

You can purchase the pattern directly from the Holla Knits website, or from the Knit Picks website if you want to buy them as a kit with the yarn.

Then, a simple cotton T-shirt from American Vintage.

Some beautiful lacquer sandals from Mellow Yellow. Unfortunately, they are last year collection and not on sale anymore. I love those, they are my favorite shoes ever, they remind me a bit of my childhood summer sandals, plus they're super comfy.

And of course, the look wouldn't be complete without your favorite pair of sunglasses, mine are simple ones from Monoprix.

Now I'm all set for summer, and ready to try that out next week at the beach!

Je viens de récupérer mon Wet Hot Summer Short, renvoyé par Holla Knits, et je suis super contente de pouvoir enfin le porter! C'est aussi un moyen de montrer à mes amis intrigués, que oui, les shorts en tricot sont cool et complètement portables en été!

Voici donc mon look de l'été:

Tout d'abord, bien sur, mon Wet Hot Summer Shorts !

Ensuite, un T-shirt en coton tout simple de American Vintage.

De belles sandales vernies de Mellow Yellow. Malheureusement, il s'agit de la collection de l'année dernière et elles ne sont plus en vente. J'adore ces chaussures, ce sont mes chaussures préférées, elles me rappellent un peu les sandales de mon enfance et en plus elles sont super confortables.

Et bien sur, le look ne serait pas complet sans votre paire de lunettes de soleil préférées! Les miennes sont une paire toute simple de Monoprix.

Maintenant je suis toute prête pour l'été, j'ai hâte d'essayer tout ça à la plage la semaine prochaine !

Wet Hot Summer Shorts - Pattern Release

I have the great pleasure of announcing you the release of my newest pattern : Wet Hot Summer Shorts as part as Holla Knits Summer 2016 collection!

After seeing Wet Hot American Summer, I wanted to bring sexy to my summer wardrobe! So I designed those mid-waist shorts to wear in the city or at the beach all summer with big sandals and a cute crop top. What I enjoyed most when knitting those shorts were all the different techniques I got to use. I’ve been obsessed with grafting in pattern lately and I love the looks of those horizontal cabled legs! The cable pattern is worked flat and then the last stitches are grafted with the provisional cast on. Stitches are then picked up on the side of the cable panel and the rest of the shorts is worked in stockinette stitch in the round, with short rows to shape the back. The waistband has an elastic band inserted for a perfect fit. This pattern is highly customizable, you can make longer legs, add more room in the back and make a lower or higher waist as you wish!
