High Tide Socks - New free pattern

My High Tide Socks pattern was just released as a free pattern as part as the Fall 2016 collection of Knotions magazine.

I’ve always been fascinated by high tides, when the beach slowly disappears and the sea reaches the city before withdrawing again and you have to walk kilometers on the beach to find it. Tides have always punctuated my vacations so I wanted to design those socks to knit at the beach while watching the movements of the sea.
These socks are knitted in the round on four double pointed needles, but the experienced knitter can easily adapt the pattern for one or two circular needles. They are knitted top down, with a round heel and a wedged toe. The stitch pattern is made of stockinette stitch and elegant wavy cables over garter stitch.

Take a look at the Ravelry page for more information, and you can find the free pattern on the Knotions website.

On another note, I have two designs coming up in September, some interesting socks and a very cute hat in Knit Picks and Holla Knits collections. I'm also working on a beautiful textured cowl for self-publication. Wet Hot Summer Shorts - Pattern Release

I have the great pleasure of announcing you the release of my newest pattern : Wet Hot Summer Shorts as part as Holla Knits Summer 2016 collection!

After seeing Wet Hot American Summer, I wanted to bring sexy to my summer wardrobe! So I designed those mid-waist shorts to wear in the city or at the beach all summer with big sandals and a cute crop top. What I enjoyed most when knitting those shorts were all the different techniques I got to use. I’ve been obsessed with grafting in pattern lately and I love the looks of those horizontal cabled legs! The cable pattern is worked flat and then the last stitches are grafted with the provisional cast on. Stitches are then picked up on the side of the cable panel and the rest of the shorts is worked in stockinette stitch in the round, with short rows to shape the back. The waistband has an elastic band inserted for a perfect fit. This pattern is highly customizable, you can make longer legs, add more room in the back and make a lower or higher waist as you wish!

You can purchase the pattern individually on the Holla Knits website.

New release - Pepito-Barnabe Set

I just released a new set of patterns :

Pepito-Barnabe Hat and Cowl

These funky pony hat and cowl are warm accessories for winter. They feature simple colorwork and a small pony chart. I designed them for a friend’s mother who loves horse riding, and I called it Pepito-Barnabe because if we ever have a pony, that would be its name.

New release - Soviet Hat

New release : Soviet Hat

In Warsaw, I was really strucked by the austere beauty of the soviet buildings. These geometric forms inspired me this hat. Made with 100 grams of Aran yarn, this hat is an exploration through cables and a very warm hat for winter.

I told you about my inspiration in a previous post.
I've been toying with cables a lot recently, I love how they offer endless design possibilities, and I found that architecture is a really great inspiration. For this hat, I thought about the soviet buildings I saw in Warsaw when I visited it last years. From there, I watched photos of many other soviet architectures and I really enjoyed the pureness of their geometric forms, the austerity of their exagerated proportions, the use of concrete and cables. I wanted to make a design in which you can feel the raw material interwining to make something beautiful.
